Chris Hake

Sr. Vice President, Director of Southwest Region

Chris is responsible for sourcing new development opportunities in Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada and New Mexico. Chris is directly responsible for the development and leasing of new retail projects on behalf of the company and also works with several of Thompson Thrift’s preferred development clients in an effort to assist with new store development across the United States. In addition to his development responsibilities, Chris handles the disposition of wholly owned assets on behalf of Thompson Thrift Development.

Chris joined Thompson Thrift in 2007 and most recently served as the vice president of development in our Indianapolis, IN office prior to relocating to Phoenix and opening up our southwest regional office. Prior to joining Thompson Thrift, Chris served as a financial analyst for Duke Realty Corporation in Indianapolis. While at Duke, Chris analyzed more than $1 billion worth of commercial real estate transactions.

A graduate of the University of Dayton, Chris earned his bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in finance and operations management in 2005. While at the University of Dayton, Chris was among a select group invited to join the Flyer Investments Club at the Davis Center of Portfolio Management. He is actively involved in the International Council of Shopping Centers and is a past co-chair and state chair of the Indiana ICSC Next Generation Committee. Chris also is a member of the Fiesta Bowl Committee who is responsible for assisting in putting on Cactus Bowl, Fiesta Bowl and other related Bowl events throughout Arizona. Lastly, in 2018 Chris was selected by Chain Store Age magazine as one of “12 Rising Stars to Watch in Retail Real Estate”, nationally.
